Library Collection: The library collection holds over 8000 titles in art history, criticisms and exhibition catalogues with the core of the collection focused on Canadian art and artists.

Artists’ Files: The Artists’ Files, a file collection representing over 1500 artists, includes articles, photographs, correspondence, and interview transcripts. This resource supports research by students and professionals alike.

Archive Collection: Primary source materials, including correspondence, photographs, and sketch books for Painters Eleven and other artists of local importance, can be studied in the library’s archives.

The Thomas Bouckley Collection: The Thomas Bouckley Collection at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery consists of over 4000 prints and corresponding negatives. Of this number, 2283 photographs and negatives are catalogued and actively used for exhibitions and by the public for research of Oshawa and the surrounding area.

Exhibition Catalogues: Catalogues published by The Robert McLaughlin Gallery of past and current exhibitions may be purchased through the Gallery Gift Shop or Library. Orders may also be placed through the Gallery’s distributor: ABC Art Books Canada
