Why not create your own unique flag to wave during the Festival of Lights parade? Each participant is encouraged to use mixed media materials including fabric paints to visually express what they expect to see in the parade.

FUNDAMENTALS FOR KIDS

DRAWING AND PAINTING….WITH AN IMAGINATIVE TWIST

Learn the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting…with an imaginative twist introduces children to thinking creatively in their work. Use expressive colour and forms to create comic book characters, fantasy landscape paintings and create abstract artworks using printmaking techniques.

MAKE YOUR OWN GRAPHIC NOVEL

Thursdays, 18 November - 9 December

Learn the basic principles behind making your own graphic novel. Participants will be encouraged to create their own characters, storyboards and illustrative cover.

TEENS

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

Wednesdays, 15 September to 20 October

4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

This class (limited to fifteen students) is designed for the serious art student, ages 14-18, who plans to apply to art school or pursue a career in the arts. Utilizing the expertise of the instructor and a variety of Gallery materials, teens contribute to a comprehensive portfolio geared for art-school applications. Topics include figure drawing, acrylic painting on canvas, sculpture and mixed media. Discussion and presentation of student work will be encouraged. All materials supplied.
