OPG Second Sundays offers FREE art activities each month!

Drop-in 1pm to 3pm

Families of all kinds and sizes are invited to explore exciting exhibitions, art materials and fun hands-on activities together! You will discover things to do throughout the RMG, so you can follow your imagination and experiment with new ideas and projects.

Projects suit art lovers of all ages and skill levels. Ideal for children 3 and up, however kids work with their parents & art instructors.


11 May: Mothers Day Wild and Crazy!
Get wild and go crazy as we celebrate Mother’s Day! Create wacky patterned prints, neon abstract paper flowers and truly creative sculptures! Mother’s Day Brunch available, call Cheryl-Ann to reserve at 905 576 3000 x103

8 June: Prep with Pep - a Pre-Parade party!
Early Start! 12:30-3 pm
We’re celebrating families with pride! Families of all ages and sizes are welcome to join us before the Durham Pride parade to make posters, flags, banners and noise-makers! At 2 pm, we’ll head up to Centre Street to watch the Parade. Due to the parade route, we recommend using the John Street entrance.

13 July: Amazing Animals
Ever wonder what an elephant would look like with a fish head instead? Wonder no more! We’re going to discover all the different ways we can make animals through art! We’re going to experiment with sculpture, collage, painting and drawing, and see what wild creatures our imagination comes up with.

10 August: Viewfinders
Inspired by the exhibitions Re:purpose and Viewfinders, we’re going to find new ways to reinvent old technologies! From old phones and CD cases, you can invent new sculptures and wild artworks.
