Free Family Fun!
OPG Second Sundays offers FREE art activities each month!
Registration not required. Drop-in 1pm to 3pm
Families of all kinds and sizes are invited to explore exciting exhibitions, art materials and fun hands-on activities together! You will discover things to do throughout the RMG, so you can follow your imagination and experiment with new ideas and projects.
Projects suit art lovers of all ages and skill levels. Ideal for children 3 and up, however kids work with their parents & art instructors.
9 August: Calling all Artists!
This month we will explore 2D and 3D artworks, from from raised salt paintings to mini sculptures, we will create artworks that will surely inspire the artists in all of us!
Sunday, 13 September: Musical Movements
Let the music move you! We will make art inspired by sounds and movements. Imagine making an abstract artwork using salad spinners or make musical instruments that are fun to make and shake!
Sunday, October 25: Halloween Art Party!
Please note our October event has a special date.
Mwaa haha! Time for some Halloween fun! We will have a spooktacular good time decorating treat bags, making masks and creating creepy creatures. Don’t forget to wear your costumes, for our selfie-station!
Sunday, November 8: Abstract Attack
Are you up for a challenge? This month, we are thinking outside the box by tackling a painting with no brushes, drawing with no pencils and sculpting with found objects! Let’s get creative and have some fun!
Sunday, December 13: Glittery Gifts and Sparkling Cards
We are adding some extra sparkle to your holiday gifts! Create and decorate a unique gift, wrap it in some shimmering handmade giftwrap and add a sparkling card.
Sunday, January 10: Art that Moves!
Inspired by the newly installed permanent collection exhibition, we are exploring various ways to make art that moves! From paper airplanes to mobiles, and colour wheel spinners we will make art that literally moves you.
