OPG Second Sundays: Free Family Fun!

OPG Second Sundays offers FREE art activities each month!

Registration not required.
Drop-in 1pm to 3pm

Families of all kinds and sizes are invited to explore exciting exhibitions, art materials and fun hands-on activities together! You will discover things to do throughout the RMG, so you can follow your imagination and experiment with new ideas and projects.

Projects suit art lovers of all ages and skill levels. Ideal for children 3 and up, however kids work with their parents & art instructors.

11 January: StART Your Engine!
Have you ever wondered if an animal could outrun a car? Inspired by the exhibition Running on Empty, we will combine nature and the man-made to make car tracks into beautiful abstractions, metallic animal masks, and race some unusual animal inspired cars along a large collaborative wall mural!

8 February: Lunar New Year Celebration! Year of the Goat!
We are celebrating Lunar New Year early this year! This fourth annual event will inspired the artists in all of us! We will decorate our own paper lanterns, discover animal zodiacs to make creative animal masks among other celebratory art making activities!

8 March: Colour!
Join us as we celebrate and create colourful crafts in recognition of The Festival of Colours! Experiment with warm and cool colours to make kites, mobiles and fun prints.

12 April: Amazing Abstractions
This month we are letting our imaginations loose! Inspired by the Jock Macdonald: Evolving Form exhibition, we will create watercolour paintings, unique abstracted pinwheels, silly sculptures and a collaborative abstract floor art.

10 May: Mother’s Day
Celebrate Mother’s Day at the Gallery! Create a unique tile mosaic, a beautiful card and gift wrap for a special person in your life. Mother’s Day Brunch is also available, check our website for details.
