ArtReach and First Fridays are seeking submissions of gig poster designs to be juried and hung with an opening party at May’s First Fridays event. The posters must be advertising a live music performance, either real or imagined. Submissions will be judged by a jury of experienced art directors, designers and musicians on quality, dynamism and effectiveness. 

Selected artists will be asked to provide the RMG a print of their poster that fits a matte window of 15 ¼”w x  19 ¼” h. The RMG will professionally frame and install the works. Prizes to be announced in the coming weeks.

Submission Timeline:

Friday 9 March: Submission Deadline

Friday 23 March: Selected Artists Notified

Thurday 5 April: Print Drop-off Deadline

Friday 4 May: Poster Show Opening Party

By Participating The Entrant Agrees to abide by and to be bound to these rules:

• No extensions will be granted, and posters must be submitted in the correct size or they will not be accepted.
• By entering this competition, you are agreeing to provide at no cost an exhibition-quality print or prints of your selected work for display at The RMG. 
• Selected works, photos taken at the event, and other images associated with the Juried Gig Poster Show may be used by the RMG for promotional purposes without further compensation.
• Works posted at this exhibition are not to be priced; however entrants may privately arrange the sale of their works outside of the RMG’s facility.
• The RMG will take best possible care of all entries but is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged works.

To Enter:

• Entries must advertise a live music performance, either real or imagined.
• Limit of 3 Entries Per Person
• Works must be original and not infringe upon the rights, intellectual or otherwise, of others.
• Works can be in any medium but selected entries will be framed so works must be 2D. (No raised surfaces).
• Works must be submitted digitally. Emails should not exceed 5mb.
• Works can be landscape or portrait (horizontal or vertical).
• Print must be sized to fit a 15 ¼” x  19 ¼”  matte window.

• In body of email provide contact information as you would like it to be referred to in printed material: Name of Entrant, Email Address, Address, Postal Code, City, Titles of Work 1, Title of Work 2, Title of Work 3.
• Please clearly name digital files.

 NOTE: You must meet submission guidelines. Those who do not will be disqualified.

 If Selected:

• Drop off an exhibition-quality (recommended resolution: 300dpi) print of your poster(s) to the RMG on or before Thursday 5 April, 2012 at 8:45pm.
• Print must be sized to fit a 15 ¼” x  19 ¼”  matte window.
• Works will be framed by the RMG. The RMG will retain the frames after the show has ended.
